দেবাশিস পোড়ের বিরুদ্ধে ওঠা অভিযোগ থেকেই তদন্ত শুরু হয়। তদন্তে জানা যায় দেবাশিস আসলে একজন ফার্মাসিস্ট। সে কোন কলেজ থেকে এমবিবিএস, এম ডি ইত্যাদি ডিগ্রি লাভ করেছেন তার কোনও উল্লেখ প্রেসক্রিপশনে না থাকায় অভিযোগকারীদের সন্দেহের মুখে পড়েন তিনি। পাশাপাশি পানাগড় নাগরিক মঞ্চ দেবাশিসের ভুয়ো সার্টিফিকেটের বিষয় প্রশাসনের নজরে আনে। আর তাতেই ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন এই ভুয়ো চিকিৎসক। জেলা ও রাজ্য স্বাস্থ্য দফতরকে চ্যালেঞ্জ জানিয়ে রিট পিটিশন করে।
তদন্তের রিপোর্ট আদালতে জমা পড়তেই দুর্দিন ঘনিয়ে আসতে শুরু করে ওই ভুয়ো চিকিৎসকের। মাস খানেক আগেই কাঁকসায় তাঁর চেম্বার সিল হয়ে যায়। তখনই দেবাশিস বুঝে যায় আগামী দিনে তাঁর গ্রেফতার হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা প্রবল। তাই আগাম জামিনের আবেদনও চেয়ে রাখে সে। তবে বিচারক সে আবেদন খারিজ করে দেন।
চলতি সপ্তাহের মঙ্গলবার রাতে জেলার মুখ্য স্বাস্থ্য আধিকারিকের অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে কাঁকসা থানার পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করে অভিযুক্ত দেবাশিস পোড়ে। আগামীদিনে দেবাশিসের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে বলে জানানো হয়েছে পুলিশের তরফে।
